Question by : Can you tell me what the blood tests will show?
My allergist has ordered the following blood tests for me
ANA, CH50, CSR, Antithyroidglobin microbial, and Antithyrhroidglobin antibody.
My background is over the years I have had unknown lip and tongue swelling. Last year I took some alka seltzer cold medicine and my tongue swelled up about 5 hours later in middle of night. I went to ER and barely made it there, was intubated for 5 days and they think it was the aspirin in the alkaseltzer.
Since then I have avoided aspirin and all aspirin products and I read labels now big time.
Problem is I still have the lip and tongue swelling. I am on 20 mg of zyrtec, take predinsone (when attack occurs) and benadryl , and carry epipen.
I have had about 10 – 15 swellings in a year.
So, he ordered these tests to see if we can get further and see what is causing it.
I have been tested for hereditary allergies and food allergies. Those all came up negative.
Any clue? What will the tests show? And what do you think he is looking for?
I am 44 female. Generally good health but for this.
i do have angioedma and am dx with idiopathic anahphyisis.

Could be Angioedema ask your doc to check for it. ( C4 and C1 inhibitor)
